I hope I don't ever get over the honour of being chosen to photograph someone's wedding. As I start to plan my own wedding, I realize more and more the weight of this job and the true honour it is to capture such a day. No doubt, my family are my greatest supporters, so when Ryan and Sonya asked me to shoot their wedding, I was speechless. Every ounce of self-doubt seeped into my mind, but their faith in me was overwhelming.
Their wedding day came near the end of a week-long adventure in Mexico. We got to know their friends and their wedding parties with their wedding being the pinnacle of all the fun and adventures! The day started with a sweet surprise for Sonya in the morning, and then we were off to the races!
The ceremony was beautifully intimate as the couple shared their vows in front of their family and friends with the bluest sky above.
Much love to this beautiful couple, for taking a chance on me and believing in me before I really could. I credit their faith in my art as part of the genesis of my journey into freelance photography. That day solidified that I love capturing moments and that it fills me with a fulfillment that gives me life.
I've booked a few weddings for the 2018 season already, and I feel the same incredible appreciation and honour as I did the day they asked me to photograph their wedding, but I believe in myself so much more because of their faith in me.
